A new page explaining the background to the Shop Front Heritage Grant Scheme has been added to the Allerdale Borough Council website. Members of the Trust took parties on guided tours of the Castle as part of the Cockermouth Festival and the national Civic Day scheme. These were arranged by kind permission from the Dowager Lady Egrement and proved as popular as ever. A small charge was made and all proceeds were donated to the Festival organisors. [...]

The initiative to enhance and replace many of Cockermouths shopfronts since the floods has recieved an award from Action for Market Towns (AMT).
