I hope that you are all ‘keeping safe’ during this difficult time. At least we have had some superb weather which I think has made the restrictions much easier to bear. From a Civic Trust point of view it’s so disappointing that we have had to cancel so many activities but I hope that you will keep with us and continue to support the Trust into the next season when hopefully some form of normality can begin to return. It’s not clear yet as to whether we will be able to restart our lecture programme in October but as a minimum I anticipate that we will need to have some form of social distancing in place. We do have meeting topics pencilled in. We are not now planning on arranging an annual lunch during 2020 but look forward to arranging one in 2021 with Lord & Lady Egremont as our guests. Sad news in that as you are probably aware, three of our long term members have passed away in the last three months, Tom Hughes, Peter Colley and Joan Ellis and I have included a piece about each of them in this newsletter.
